CHATEAU LA CHENEVIERE

La Chenevière is a magnificent 18th-century Norman chateau. A former mansion and farm, the chateau was fully restored in 1988 to become the luxury 5-star hotel it is today. La Chenevière has 29 spacious and comfortable rooms, individually designed to combine modern comforts with traditional luxury. Recently voted one of the top 50 hotels in Europe by Condé Nast Traveller readers.

La Chenevière is set in a park of 12 hectares including the walled garden with a heated outdoor pool, and a tennis court. The vegetable garden provides fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables for the restaurant. The chateau’s bees provide the honey served at the breakfast buffet.

Didier Robin, the in-house chef, is passionate about Normandy’s delicious produce. He works with top regional producers, as well as the chateau’s gardeners to select the very best herbs, fruits and vegetables. The fabulous cuisine is complemented by a cellar composed of fine French and international wines selected by the sommelier.

The chateau was occupied by the Germans during World War II, and then the Americans after the D-Day landings. Chenevière is less than a mile from Gold beach. The other Normandy Landing beaches are a short drive away.

From 314€ per night.
