ON-LOCATION TOUR Sainte Mère Eglise and the US Airborne Forces

14.95 euros
LIVE from Sainte Mère Eglise, Normandy

Service Description

Sainte Mère Eglise, the town, the monuments and the church. "...today we brought a bit of Normandy to my dad and father-in-law - Patrick led a private, interactive tour streamed right to our TV. He even climbed the bluffs of Omaha Beach- just like being there! Thank you Patrick..." - TripAdvisor review An on-location virtual tour of the first town to be liberated by the US Army on D-Day. We will see the mannequin of Private John Steele still hanging from his parachute lines from the church bell tower, the original water pump used by the enemy soldiers and the townsfolk on the night of June 6th 1944, and the bullet holes still visible from the exchange of fire. The medieval church of the Holy Mother is included in the tour, as are the fabulous stained-glass windows that pay homage to the paratroopers of the 505th regiment of the 82nd Airborne Division. It's an amazing place and an enthralling story. Using the latest livestreaming mobile technology, Patrick Hilyer's on-location virtual tours bring the sights and sounds of the D-Day battlefields and beaches right to your living room, den or office - on your tablet, computer, laptop, smart phone or TV screen. The tours are interactive - you and your guests can ask questions during the LIVE ZOOM briefing/debriefing. Patrick is an experienced D-Day tour guide and a member of the Normandy Battlefield Tour Guides Association. He and his wife run the travel consultancy We Love Normandy and both have worked in Tourism and Hospitality in Normandy since 2003. Tours are given in English Price promise - if you find an equivalent tour cheaper elsewhere we'll refund the difference
